Pitfall Harry is the hero of the Pitfall series of video games.
History[]
Harry is an explorer, seeking treasures of ancient civilizations.
While mostly only seeking treasure, Harry has also saved people in distress and even thwarted a shaman priest from causing the destruction of El Dorado in the past.
At some point he had a son, Pitfall Harry Jr.
Pitfall also has a niece named Rhonda according to Pitfall II: Lost Caverns where he has to rescue her.
Personality,[]
Though mostly a generic explorer/treasure hunter archetype in the earlier games, Harry was given a personality in Pitfall: The Lost Expedition.
He is portrayed as a cocky, sarcastic fast talking egotist who fancies himself a ladies man. He is however also portrayed as brave, honorable and and selfless. In Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, his personality is more silly, cartoonish and a bit doofy, but is nonetheless still adventurous and brave.
Harry's father left when he was young, leading to him being raised by a man called David Crane.
Portrayal[]
Harry is portrayed by Steven Jay Blum in his only talking performance.
Trivia[]
- Harry's adoptive father is named after his creator.
- Harry is the protagonist of all games in the series (except) I mean even for Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure and Pitfall 3D: Beyond the Jungle. In both of which his son is the playable character but his dad then shows up.
